Nan Pemberton began her association with CA in 2012. She served first on the Executive Board of Directors as the Treasurer. In January 2018, she transitioned from the board to Vice President of Operational Support providing leadership and strategic oversight for the Human Resources, Payroll and Information Technology departments. In this position, she collaborates with the CEO and Vice President of Mission Initiatives to develop strategic planning that guides and supports the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
Nan is a native of Ft. Worth, Texas. She received her B.S. from Texas A&M University. She has worked for the Commonwealth of Virginia for 21 years. She began first as an Administrative/Confidential Assistant to the Director of the Department of Historic Resources, and most recently as the Director of Administration for the Virginia Board for People with Disabilities. During that time, she has served on the Board of Directors of the Richmond Waldorf School, the Virginia Executive Institute Alumni Association, and the National Grants Management Association. Nan also previously worked in Germany, serving as the Special Assistant to the Assistant Chief of Mission at the US Embassy Office in Berlin for five years. Her varied career also involves teaching Chemistry and Physical Science in the Dallas Texas Independent School District and selling pharmaceuticals and medical equipment for Fortune 500 companies. Nan has one daughter, Kathryn, and one grandson affectionately called Skootz. Nan is active in civic and social organizations.
