Courtney Vaughan, a Licensed Behavior Analyst, started with CA in 2015 as the director of CA Children’s Programs. She is a leader with deep expertise in program development. In her current role as Vice President of Mission Initiatives, Courtney provides leadership and oversight to ensure that all of our strategic initiatives stay on mission.
To Courtney, that mission is simple: “We work to build a Virginia where all individuals are included,” she explains. “We recognize that everyone has a voice. Inclusion means helping to make those voices heard.”
Courtney knows the challenges of working on the frontlines of direct services. She has worked in four private day school settings, two of which had residential programs. Through that work she has partnered with 19 different local educational agencies (LEAs).
Courtney values partnership between private and public sector organizations. She believes that this is a large part of what makes CA’s approach different. “We believe that partnerships empower our community.”
Given her work, it comes as no surprise that Courtney is passionate about reliable and accessible public transportation. Courtney enjoys running and the occasional triathlon, exploring Richmond with her husband, and cheering on the Flying Squirrels with her husband and their son.
