We're Reimagining Human Service Systems

Igniting potential in communities.

We do things differently. We work with people with autism and other developmental disabilities and their families to help them thrive. But we also focus on reimagining human services systems.

This systems change work often takes longer, but it can be transformational, and that’s why we’re here. Every day, we work toward a future where Virginians of all ages can participate in every aspect of our community and realize their full potential. We categorize our work into three efforts:

Autism impacts people regardless of their race, color, or national origin. So should the services across Virginia. Black Lives Matter.

Advocating for Future Change

Policymakers don’t always understand the issues impacting people with developmental disabilities and don’t have the time to do their own research. We build awareness among them through:

  • Community and corporate organization and engagement
  • Alliances with state and local governments and agencies
  • Public-private partnerships

Enabling Change for Tomorrow

Service organization employees are often overwhelmed and may lack expertise in the latest evidence-based interventions. We equip our partners with the tools and capacity to serve by providing:

  • Conferences and community events
  • Professional development and continuing education
  • Embedded coaching
  • Shared Services

Creating Change Today

People with developmental disabilities and their families have a lot of questions. The first one is usually, “Is this autism?” And then, “Now what?” We provide answers and support by offering:

  • Diagnostic & Assessment Clinic
  • Children’s Programs
  • Adult Programs

Every day, we work toward a future where the most vulnerable Virginians of all ages can participate in every aspect of our community and realize their full potential.
